no post from me again!

I am a terrible blogger. But guess what I discovered last week. FACEBOOK - it is the lazy person's blog. Plus you can get caught up on everyone you went to school with without having to actually communicate with them. I will admit to a small addiction to the farming games. They are fun.

I got a new iphone today - what was I thinking. My brain is fried trying to learn how to use it. Maybe I will figure it out by the time I upgrade again in 2 years.

More new babies!!

We have 2 more new babies. These pics were taken when they were just a day or so shy of one week old. The top baby is Cookie and the bottom baby is Brownie. Miss Maude is Cookie's mommy and Duchess is Brownie's momma. They are growing like weeds and bouncing all over the place and keeping their mama's really busy trying to keep up with them.

By the way, they too were surprises. We didn't plan for any babies at all this year, and we have had five born so far. Thank you neighbor billy goat (not)!

This is just a short post to say that I will try to post a longer post later. The kids have plenty going on right now to brag about and I have kittens coming out my ears. So, I will post in the next 3 weeks for sure!!!!

More Babies!!

Here is the next batch of babies to show off!

Their mama decided to have them in the back of the neighbor's truck.

Fortunately, it wasn't the truck he drives every day.

These babies are both black with white spots under their necks.

One is about twice the size of the other.

This baby is the only orange baby so far. This baby is the

loudest voice among the five.

This baby is special, look no tail!!!!

We have a daddy cat that doesn't have a tail either. We call him Bob and he is wild.

We also have a daddy cat that looks like this baby.

We call him Big Guy, and he is wild.



This is Mama Abby Cat with her babies. She now has them in a basket in our

living room. These pictures were taken about a week ago, they are growing daily.

They are already crawling around and mewing for attention.

Spring Babies - Post 1 of many!

So, here are the new babies as promised. They are doing really well and

even spent a day in the pasture field.

I think this is a close-up of Luna. I am not real sure and Caitlin is asleep.

This baby was certainly more photogenic than the other.

And this is Momma Coco.

She really has her hands full.

The babies already have figured out how to escape from the stall.

Well, I will post more photos of all our other spring babies later.

And maybe even some of the older, spoiled babies.

And life goes on...

I still am in a major funk over losing my sweet baby. But, as life goes on, we had twin girls born to our Coco on Sunday morning. They seem to be doing well and Coco is taking care of them. She does require some milking because the girls both like to suck on the same side. Caitlin is making sure that is taken care of. While they aren't the same joy to me as Honey, it is nice to have new babies. Caitlin has named them Luna (Harry Potter) and Delilah. Coco is her goat and the babies will be hers too. I will post photos later of the new girls. We also have several piles of kittens around here, so I will try to take some pics of them too.

Grieving our baby girl

Last night when we returned home from a meeting, our baby girl Honey B was in distress. We gave her a bottle and left at 6pm and when we got home about 9pm, she was all muddy on one side and in pain. We don't know what happened to her, but their was nothing we could do for her pain and suffering. She died sometime through the night. We are so sad to lose her. She was such a sweet joy to take care of. We kinda complained about whose turn it was to feed her, but all of us enjoyed taking her a warm bottle and yelling her name and having her come running.

Honey B

We have a new addition to our family!!!

She is just like having a new baby - just one that lives in the barn...

Her name is Honey B.

She was born last Friday, March 27th.

I guess you could say she is Caitlin's baby and Jeff and I are the doting grandparents.



Her momma, June Bug, isn't able to feed her. June Bug has what is known as a "bad bag". So, we have been bottle feeding Honey B every 4 hours at first and now every 5 hours.
24 HOURS A DAY.......





June Bug still takes care of all the bathing and cuddling needs. She is an excellent mother.
By the way, we didn't plan for June Bug to have a baby, but apparently one of the neighbors billy goats thought she was mighty pretty and he found a way to do his thing.

A baby goat can never have ears that are too clean.

And a baby goat will suck even her surrogate momma's face if she thinks it will taste good.

I would have to say that Honey B has the three of us right where she wants us.

The best thing - she sleeps in the barn instead of a crib!!!!!!

March in like a lion or lamb?

I am not sure, it was okay earlier in the day with some sun. This evening it is very, very windy and cold. I think I will go with lion and we will see if the lamb finishes March.

Isn't March weather interesting, at least in WV. One minute it will snow and then it will be sunshiny and warm the next. Spring is just officially 19 days away!

This is gonna be a busy week - Mon work, jonathan has 4 things, caitlin 2, and they all fall in the same four hour span tomorrow evening. Jeff is off tomorrow - what a blessing!! Tues - both kids have something. Wed is work. Thursday is an early morning event for the kids downtown. Thursday evening Jeff heads back to work and fri - work.

And the biggest of all - WEDNESDAY, MARCH 4TH - JONATHAN BECOMES A TEENAGER!!!!!!!!!!!!! Heaven help us here on John's Creek!

Not to leave February out!

Okay, so I totally suck at blogging. I don't know what to write about or even if anyone would read it anyway. Isn't that kinda like talking to yourself and then answering yourself. I think so. Maybe I will get more motivated and post something interesting. Don't hold your breath cyberspace!

Twice in the same...

I can't believe it, I am posting twice in the same week - year- month - hah!..

I was checking out some other blogs and they were talking about getting back into a regular routine after the long holiday break. Boy, I know the feeling. I am a night owl - I went to bed at 7am on Sunday morning. I had to be to work at 8am this morning and yet I still somehow managed. I am having trouble holding my head up now - but it is a shocker that I am even awake. The best thing about staying up later is that I get to sleep later tomorrow. Then I have to get up early for work on Wednesday. But I get to sleep in early on Thursday!! Then I have to get up early for work on Friday!! But I get to sleep early on Saturday (if Jeff takes the kids to steer weigh-in), Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday!!!! Then I have to get up early for work on Wednesday - and the cycle continues!!

The kids weren't happy about going back either, but at least they had to take a shower and put on clean clothes!!

So, there it is, two posts in the same week, month, & year! Yeah me!!

Who can remember when y2k was a big deal? Here we are nine years later and the economy, the first black president, and bail-outs are the headlines.

Hopefully this year will see everyone healthy, happy, & well loved!
